Revolution Art Magazine Compaction
The competition is to produce a poster.
The picture below is a print screens explain what the topic of the magazine in the next issue, and what our poster will be related to.
The Deadline is – 15 of September 2011
I believe the title ‘I DEMAND’ Is very aggressive and forceful.
The colours red and black behind it give the elision of violence.
The size of the poster must be ether -
What they ask of you -
When sending in a finished poster it states is must be send in the highest quality 300dpi, rgb, jpj.
The website asks not to include self-promotion items, spam, internet address, emails, watermarks, company logos, or overprints of your art work , only to send art work as requested.
Other size artwork cannot be accepted.
The use of their logo is welcome but not mandatory.

Artist Research
The artist has manipulated the image so that the pictures on the wall and one if the chest peace’s are on fire, also the artist has added orbs of light coming from the female manikin in the middle of the room, there for giving her an almost innocent look about her. The Female figure has no distinctive features, her face is blank this could suggest that the girl has no identity. Other than the fire there is no destruction the flames burning the photo in the background has left no scorch marks on the wall, there for the image could symbolise a memory the figure is slowly forgetting or a past loved one leaving no trace it was there. The love hearts on the pedestals are bleeding this could symbolise a brake up of a relationship and both sides our hurting as there are 2 hearts rather than one, the heart on the right looks more deteriorated and also smaller than the left, the right half of the room is dark making the image seem depressive looking at it as if its 2 halfs of a realtionship one is more agresive about what has happed. The manikin in the middle is sat in an awkward position; it looks as if they are trying to stand up but finding it difficalt or the manikin has colapsed to there nees. I find this image difficalt to work out what is going on as there are waves of light in a love heart shape this could mean she's has hope inside of her, or the light is leaving her like her love. There a red strip in this image to me it looks very out of place as it is very bright and isnt linked to anything. The ches peaces could sybolise choices the figure will have to make and what path (move) she will make next.

The artists has manipulated the man to be hanging from the femel hands fingers this could be to sybolise how she has him ‘wrapped around her finger’ a saying used when some one has control over another person how ever it could also sybolise how she playing him like a pupit an experstion used when some one monipulate some one into doing there‘dirty work’ or them.
I find this photo humeros because the man hanging looks very helples in the womans control this is funny because in sociaty men and usualy seen as the domenut sex and have the control over the woman. The colours in this image are very dull I think the artist has done this to bring some seriosnes back into the picture. The light is coming from one direction because there is only one shadow beig cast.
The womans hand looks very realistic but the man hanging looks very cartooned almost like a figure you would put on top of a wedding cake, this could also be why the man is in a tuxido and bowtie. This could sybolise thet they are a couple and the woman is using the man, or using him aa pupet in some sort of game to get something out of him.
Although the man looks like a pupet on string the string are tided to her fingers rather then a toy pupet you would buy in a shop when the string it tied + shaped peace of wood. This photo could also be liked to ‘I demand’ as some people feel that the government monipulates people, making you believe what they what you to by only telling parts of information and withholding information putting them in a bad light. I could use this image for inspetarion by replacing the man with a momber of the government, and the hand could sybolise the people and how they are taking back controll using the pupent to get the truth.
The artist has Monipulated this image by putting a city landscape into a human eye making it look like a reflection of what this person is seeing. This could sybolise ‘looking at the world through some one elses eyes’. The artist has blured out the right courner of the eye so you automaticly focus on image within the eye rather then whats arounf it. In the eye there are two roads with traffic going in different directions this could sybolise choses we make in every day life and what path we might chose, that each path will take us some where different. There are a few light flairs coming from the lights from buildings and street lamps, this could sybolise pastion for the city or perhaps some one is seeing a big city for the first time. The top eye lashes have been blured out so it dosn’t draw atenchion away from the picture within the eye on a few are clear. There are some light trails coming from the cars this maens that the original image was taking with a long shutter speed to give this effect. The artist chose to use a city scape rather then a county land scape could be because this person’s life is very hectic and filled with people, the image in the eye was also taken at night so it could reflect that his person loves the night life of a big ciry. The pupul is also quite small and looking to the tight rather then straght ahead to give the imprestion that this person is look at you. The pupul also looks like a black hole sucking in some of the landscape, this could sybolise that they are taking in the impormation, it also gives it a realistice look witch is what the artist intended to do as he has monipulated a real eye rather then drawn one.
The Artist has manipulated the image by giving the illation that the road is a sheet and the man is cutting through the field, the man walking it pulling the road effortlessly without any struggle or difficulty this can symbolise how easy it is to make your own pathway in life, the light weight sheet could also symbolise how simple it is choosing where he will go in life. If you can’t see a clear way make one. The road doesn’t have any white lines running through the middle of it this could imply that the road it is one-way and that the man is putting what is in the distance behind him and moving forward to an unknown place as you can not see or tell where the young man is heading too, towards the distance is very smooth path but as the road gets closer it is starting to crack this could symbolise that where the man is heading may not be as smooth and that the future is going to be bumpy and not a good a quality as what he once had.
This could also be looked at in a different prospective this could symbolise that man will put a road anywhere to make a quick and easy way to their destination, ruining a beautiful landscape for the sake of transportation or that this man is carrying some burdens the road symbolises this as to make way for the road you have to cause some destruction killing off plans and small wildlife.
The man is wearing blue shirt the artist has done this so that the person walking catches your attention first rather then blending in with the background.
. There is a very small car in the distance this could symbolise that people will soon to be following the road this man has created.

The artist has manipulated a Starship into an underground car park. He has used the StarTreck logo to give the viewer a context for the image. Therefore a futuristic impression is being given.
The artist has used humour in this image, by the placement of the starship in the garage.
He has created a relationship between the man and the airship, by the use of the remote key that the man is operating and has created an impression that the man is travelling by including a suitcase.
Within the image, the main lighting is central and overhead, so the starship is well lit and dominant – giving it great importance.
Assuming that the main components of the final image were separately sourced – i.e the base car park image, the starship and the man with the suitcase, the starship and the man would have been cut out and placed on the car park image. The edges of these two components are slightly softened and multiple shadows applied – to match the multiple sources of light – from overhead and reflected light from surrounding objects.
The general lighting is warm – which implies safety and comfort, this is in opposition to the weapons on the spaceship. Perhaps travelling with weapons is normal in the futuristic age that this image depicts?
There would appear to be a need for a shadow from the main nose part of the airship, from the overhead lighting.
The lighting reflecting on the man and the airship is in line with the overhead lighting.
The image contains strong blue elements – the base of the pillars and the suitcase, along with the warmth of the orange starship alarm lights. This draws attention to the lights, which emphasise the normalcy of the situation – we are used to seeing orange alarm lights.
In terms of impact, the image demonstrates irony – within a futuristic scene one could expect to see a big shiny artefact, but the ship depicted is small, personal transportation, and seemingly commonplace. Also humour is depicted in the casual approach of the traveller to the ship. The image has a mysterious feel to it, - why is the ship there?

Ideas.
My first idea was to have a 3 trees in a vertical line giving the elution of distance between them.
Instead of leaves growing from the trees they are growing money.
The trees symbolise country’s in the EU, the money represents there economy.
The first tree has been set alight (the money is burning)
The second tree is being set alight by the first.
And the last tree has yet to be ignited but only a matter of time before it is effect.
This image will be to symbolise the situation in the EU and the problems governments are having with money and how if one country is in trouble it effects the others in one way or another.
My preferred idea is my first idea.
My second idea is to show the country’s as dominos rather than trees
one will be fallen the second will be falling and the last will be still standing, giving the elusion it will be knocked down eventually. This image is to show how if one country falls or slips up it takes a knock on every county.
My third Idea was a mix of the two
To have a row of trees and instead of one of the tree being engulfed in flames and catch alight to the others , one was falling cracking the next one and putting pressure on it until it brakes and both trees put pressure on the next making it a corresponding effect.
This links to ‘I DEMAND’ –
I fell that the government is responsible for the economy and shouldn’t take their reasonability’s lightly, that made changes they make and the money they spend will affect us all. Being in the EU, we have respectability to help out with other country’s debt, putting more pressure on the involved countries, if something isn’t done about the unnecessary spending then it with give a shock wave effect on us all.

There is concern among Greece's international creditors that it is not doing enough to get its spending under control and to warrant the next 8bn-euro (£7bn; $11bn) instalment of its rescue loan.
On Monday the IMF told Greece it needs better tax collection and deeper spending cuts, not higher taxes, to avert a debt default.
Fears that Greece will default and send shockwaves through the global economy saw stock markets tumble, and the euro fall and oil prices fall.
Italy has had its sovereign debt rating cut by Standard & Poor's, the latest move in a deepening European debt crisis.
It cited fears over Italy's ability to cut state spending and bring its finances in order.
S&P cut its rating one level to A/A-1 from A+/A-1+, adding that the outlook for the country was negative.
Feedback
Dominoes extend the image further to show my concept more as it is not portraying what I would like it to – I can do this by adding a dominoes to the fount of the row with a British pound note image on it to show that the money has collapsed and the countries are going with it.
Idea with the trees instead of small flags stepped on could try a spray paint effect on the trees.
For my third idea instead of leaves falling it would look better if it was money and don't make the flag signs stand out too much. Another suggestion for my first idea was that I don’t cover the trees in money as it might give the wrong impression that the countries have a lot of money and are just wasting it.
Make it look as if there is a lack of money already and that the fire is slowly consuming more.
Tyler and Connor Both preferred my first idea as it portrayed more meaning to it, because of there feedback I chose to go with this idea. (Not yet finished!)
